In 2021, Opus ran a project exploring the ‘radical roots’ of Sheffield, funded by the Barry Amiel and Norman Melburn Trust, as a way of framing present-day activism and campaigns for a more just, more equitable city in a historical context. This involved commissioning and publishing three long-read articles in Now Then Magazine, with associated online discussion events hosted by Festival of Debate.
