Meet the Team

I am the current Chair of the Opus Board, Opus Distribution Manager, and Opus Wellbeing Officer.

I joined the Opus Heart Board because the work of Opus stretches across and beyond Sheffield, and I wanted to be part of it too.

I joined Opus in 2025 as workshop designer and facilitator. I have had a squiggly route to this work with a background in outdoor and environmental education, operations management and sustainability consulting. The thread through all of this has been the question “what am I doing in service to the Earth, its ecosystems and societies?” 

I am a Co-Founder and Director of Opus. I have over 10 years experience working cross-sector in a variety of project management, strategy and delivery roles.

I imagine a world where the vast majority of people have the means and opportunity to find and fulfil their true potential.

Over the last 25 years, I have used my extensive knowledge, skills and experience in marketing research and consumer psychology to help diverse private and public sector organisations strategically, practically and effectively monitor, track and apply behavioural change insights.

I’m a Director at Opus. My main role is as Editor-in-Chief of Now Then Magazine, which I’ve done since 2009.

Tchiyiwe works across multiple undertakings at Opus, some of which include Demonstrators, Festival of Debate, Give Over, Foundations Earth, 25x25 and UBI Lab Network.

I am very honoured to have been accepted as part of the Opus family back in late 2022 when I achieved the role of primary assistant for our unique distribution service.

I'm a new addition to Opus, starting as the Sheffield Transition Finance Facilitator in June 2025. I get to pull from all the strands of my education in Accountancy, Business and International Business Law, as well as my work in the third sector, to help facilitate the systems change we urgently need.

I began my career with Opus back in 2010 as a proofreader for Now Then. Since then I have undertaken various roles, including content writer, social media coordinator, and company director.

I am a Director of Opus and work across many of the company’s projects, with a particular focus on Festival of Debate and Wordlife.

I am one of the stewards of the People's Newsroom project at Opus. For over 10 years I have been working at the intersection of systems change, community organising and journalism.

I joined the Opus team in November 2021 as Social Media and Communications Coordinator. As a relative newcomer to Sheffield, I have enjoyed becoming more immersed in the local community and learning about the city’s rich history of activism.

I’m a Co-Founder and Director at Opus, currently working part-time across many of the company’s projects.

As a board member and general associate of Opus for much of the last decade, I have recently stepped up my involvement with the organisation, working across digital media content and the diverse event and festival programme.

I am a driven individual interested in the entangled nature of complex systems.

I first came across Opus and the People’s Newsroom Initiative in 2021, when I worked for the Media Reform Coalition campaigning for a ‘media commons’.

I began my journey with Opus at the start of 2019 when I joined the distribution team.

I joined Opus as Finance Co-ordinator in February 2025, after many years of interactions with the team in different guises.

I joined Opus in 2019 as part of the sales team. As a long-time Now Then reader I’ve loved having the opportunity to see the magazine come to life each month and getting to know the many people who make it possible.

I am a journalist and feature writer at Now Then Magazine, focusing on music, culture and local politics.

I’m a journalist, researcher and community organiser based in Wales, and across those roles all my work focuses on building a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable media sector.
